Our client is a famous Insurance company located in Brussels.

Context

Within the company, our customer plans and executes a number of projects and enhancements on its application portfolio. This portfolio consists of
• an existing backend system managing contracts and claims
• a new frontend for brokers and internal users to manage the full life cycle of a contract
• a series of new applications to support claim notification and the management of external parties (inspectors, experts, lawyers, …)

In a constant evolving broker insurance market and an internal evolution to implement process excellence, an number of important changes to this application portfolio is required.
Over the last years, our customer has implemented a methodology to support the full life cycle of a project. More recently, development activities have been outsourced and are now hosted off-shore. Key activities in functional analysis and design on one hand and integration and user acceptance testing remain onsite.

Given the huge amount of projects, our customer is looking to hire a Business Analyst to strengthen their team.

The business analyst is the primary contact between the Business and the IT project team, where he is part of. He/she
- discusses and details business requirements and relates these to the main drivers of the project
- creates functional designs, mostly using UML
- coordinates with the technical designers
- prepares, coordinates and supports integration and user acceptance tests

Candidate has a university degree (e.g. economics, commercial engineer, civil engineer, exact sciences, …). He/she has relevant experience in functional analysis and design.
Any relevant experience in the financial industry (banking/insurance) is appreciated.
Candidate has a good basis of English and is fluent in French and/or Dutch.

He/she should have a combination of qualities:

- good listener
- be creative and pro-active
- willing to master over time an important part of the core insurance industry
- take a step back and identify opportunities for improvement
- Knowledge of UML or RUP is an advantage

- A great mix between challenging projects and quality of life
